As previously reported by this platform about the numerous sexual allegations against R Kelly by dozens of women who took to social media especially over a famous youtube channel, Lifetime, recounting the nightmares they have gone through in the hands of the RnB supper Star, R Kelly, his record label, RCA, has finally drops him.
He has been accused of Child pornography, keeping sexual cults and emotionally harrassing women which according to the law, is punishable.
It is in this regard that, his recording label, RCA, including his mother label, Sony, according to Cnn, removed the 52-year-old supper star from their website which details all artists signed into the label. His name does not longer appear on the artists roster. He has been signed into the label for 25years.
Also, the label doesn't plan to make any public announcement about the decision parting ways with Kelly, though Kelly is being informed of the decision. The source added.
Don Russell, R Kelly's advice in a very more mature and understanding manner, told Rolling Stone "We understand RCA's position: they have to remain transparent for the sake of other artists that they represent and generate wealth for. They are not in the position of dealing with the kind of stuff that has come about R Kelly. He has no issue with RCA. He's ready for the next level of life, anyway" being worried about what well happen to the two albums left with Kelly's contract with RCA.
In addition according to vox, it's worthy knowing that there has been an association of black women which come under the banner of #MuteRKelly Campaign, founded by Oronike Odeleye and Kenyette Barnes that has repeatedly urged RCA since 2017, to drop the supper star from their label, overwhelmingly welcomes the idea. Their worries for over the years has been for record labels to keep artists with good conducts especially toward women and not the case who has bad track records with women since the beginning of his career.
This has been the lifestyle of most of the celebrities in America. It's just rather unfortunate that R Kelly's case has been set as an example to most under the pillows. These are exactly part of the bases to why this genre of music came about in America. This is indeed, a good gesture by the label to clear their name off and keep their label in good records.
