I'll Roar At Any Foreign Artist Who Dares Disrespect Stanley Enow! Pius Bery says...
Any social media user who has been following Pius Bery, must have gotten angry at one point in time about one of his controversial posts as some people believe, even if not aiming at them. This guy, who doubles as the CEO of the hugely followed #GossipEmpire, the manager and co founder of Great Mind Music and a 'die-heart' fan of Jovi, has surprised his followers today through his numerous posts with best messages other than his usual jokes. Not going into details about Pius Bery, I picked out two of such posts. Read him...
"I might not be a fan of Stanley Enow but if he ever get disrespected by an unknown artist from another country.. The artist go hear yi own from me. That's how i support my own!!!"
"Artists branding is not something to be done solely by the artists themselves. Bloggers, social media influencers and fans play a big role!!!
When Jovi dropped #GodDonKam and unconfirmed report surfaced that he sold 50k copies in one week, i expected our bloggers and social media influencers to make the news (whether true or false ) travel beyond borders at the speed of light but what did they do? Majority spent time analysing and trying to convince us and the international community on why it's impossible for Jovi to sale 50k copies in one week. How do you expect someone from Nigeria to respect our artists if they can't drop an album and sale 50k copies in a whole week??
If it was a Nigerian artist that dropped an album, their media influencers will falsely tell you the guy sold 500k copies in one day and you in Cameroon won't have anything to argue about because their media haven't given you reasons to doubt. Will you now be able to bring up Jovi (who supposedly couldn't sale 50k copies in a week) when a guy that supposedly sold 500k copies in a day is mentioned??
When Jovi had a little tweeter squash with the South African rapper Cii Tizzle concerning the Mboko brand, i expected Cameroonians to stand up and "SUPPORT OUR OWN". But to my greatest suprise, some of our bloggers went ahead to search for the South African guy's songs, posted on their pages and try to lure us into listening/watching and be convinced that the guy started Mboko before Jovi? A guy we knew existed only when he disrespected OUR OWN?? Wtf 237Showbiz??? 😳
Do y'all remember what happened to Shatta Wale when he came out to disrespect some Nigerian artists? Nigerians bloggers, social media influencers and fans put him in his rightful place (the gutter). Are we so anxious to see Jovi's name in the mud?
It has now becomes like a tradition around here that anytime you see someone put up a long article about Jovi, 90% of the time its always aimed at discrediting or criticising the nigga. Can't honestly remember the last time i read an article from our bloggers or social media influencers that fully appreciate MbokoGod, someone who has been doing everything possible to make sure Cameroon has a sound out there since Makossa died.
Do we really want to grow? Do we really support our own?? Do we really practice what we preach everyday?
Anyway, Frizzy will be dropping his "Don't tell me" mashup today. Make sure you check it out."
