The Prolific Kotto Bass

His dead sent shocked waves across Cameroon  on the 20th of November 1996.
Auger Theodore Nyamsi, popularly known as Kotto Bass,  was a formidable bassist, songwriter and vocalist.

His kind of music,  which was more of a blend of soukous and Makossa won the hearts of Cameroonian music lovers in the 90's.
Edith, Yes Bamenda, ponce pilate, J'aime tout le monde, etc.  are some of his hit songs.

Kotto Bass was born the 6th of February 1963 and one of his legs got paralyzed two years later due to polio.
That physical challenge could not stop him from chasing his dreams in the musical world. 

He worked with studio Makassi of Sam Fan Thomas for several years before releasing his first solo album in 1996.
He died that same year, age 33 and his death still remains a mystery to many Cameroonians.
