Review: Tiwa Savage's Career Ravaged As She Signs A Deal With Universal Music Group!
Universal Music Group(UMG) like Sony Music Group(SMG) Warner Music Group(WMG) and G.O.O.D Music Group(GMG), is one of the major music leading distribution companies, that encompasses other smaller music companies (recording labels) around the world. It is an American global music corporation that is a subsidiary of the French media conglomerate Vivendi, head quartered in Monica, Carlifonia.
The music group is incharge of signing artists all across the globe into their music family.
They are implanted across 60countries in the world and their activities in music publishing and distribution has been very much visible including their success stories. In 2017, the had at the end of their $6.9 billion US Dollars among others according to Wikipedia.
Our point of focus is those few African artists signed into some of these mother music companies and how successful their stories has been, and can be. Several Africans have signed deals with some of these major world's leading music companies, including the famous rappers such as NASTY C from South Africa, signed into UMG, DAVIDO, who has been resisting a deal with SMG, but the most recent, is the continental award winning diva, TIWA SAVAGE who just signed a deal with this UMG.
Tiwa Savage is not only one of the finest Nigerian female artist, but a songwriter, philanthropist, fashion designer, etc. She is very much regarded as the Beyonce of Nigeria, that has led a legacy into the Nigerian entertainment industry. He has been celebrated for his Angelic voice and music style, not only in Nigeria, but across Africa and the world in General
Once crowned best African Act by the MTV European Music Awards supposedly as the first ever female to win such a humble award and in the same year as we gathered, she became the first African to sell out London's Indig02, the question remains if UMG will poorly dumbed her on the reserved bench as other African artists.
We have read an article from PoiseSocial, an online platform from Cameroon, controled by undisclosed individual how G.O.O.D Music(GM), a similar company like UMG, frustrated the music career of once an African leading artist, D'Banj, from Nigeria and in same line, how UMG is currently frustrating the music careers of two fastest rising Cameroonian artists: Locko and Tenor, who after signing into the music company, has gone silent, sitting on the reserved bench.
But amidst all these visible obstacles, Savage seems to be very much determine as she promises to make African great through her new adventure with her oversee newly music family. Here her "My biggest goal is the make Africa proud. I'm so excited at this moment and I'm thankful to Sir Lucian Graigne and my new UMG family for their belief in my dreams". She seems to be more determine as she outlines in a comment under Don Jazzy's post on Instagram.
In an open emotional message on Instagram, Tiwa Savage former boss, Don Jazzy, CEO of Marvin Records, promises to continue loving Tiwa Savage as a family, friend and sister, that these attached instincts they shared together, will keep Savage's win in Marvin Records unreplaceable and promises their out most support to her "Your jersey as the First Lady of Marvin will forever be yours as we do not intend to fill that position with anyone else".
We hope that unlike other African 'bench warmers artists' across these continental music groups, Tiwa Savage adventure will be different.
